KUALA LUMPUR: Starting May 1, only Malaysians with cars of a certain engine capacity will be allowed to buy subsidised fuel from petrol stations.


Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said not all Malaysians would be allowed to buy subsidised fuel.

PETALING JAYA: The National Union of Journalists Malaysia (NUJ) has called on media publishers not to excessively play up racial issues in their publications.

The call was part of a 13-point press statement issued yesterday.

The movement added that while political parties from both side of the divide have proposed refreshing changes and are taking steps to meet the demands of the electorate, the media industry was still stuck in a time-warp.

Mon, Jan 4, 2010 - PUTRAJAYA: Forgers can' t run from the law, says Road Transport Department director-general Datuk Solah Mat Hassan. People, he said, would try to confuse the authorities but they would not be able to fool the computer.

"Usually we find that people who try to fake road tax stickers are either loan defaulters, lorry drivers or members of car theft syndicates," he said.

KUALA LUMPUR: The dispute over wages and terms and conditions of employment between the Malayan Agriculture Association and National Union of Plantation Workers will be decided in court.


This followed the collapse of their 2008-2011 collective agreement negotiation last year.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government will continue to support non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to sustain and develop programmes and facilities to help marginalised and socially vulnerable groups.


"We welcome corporations and NGOs sharing with us their time, energy and expertise," said Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun at a Rotary luncheon talk here yesterday.
