SHAH ALAM: Two of the accused charged with the murder of cosmetics millionaire Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and three others have alleged they were tortured when they were taken back to Kajang Prison after court proceedings ended on Tuesday.
Defence counsel Gurbachan Singh, who stood for T. Thilaiyalagan, 20, told Justice Akhtar Tahir yesterday that his client and another accused, R. Matan, 21, were subjected to improper treatment after they were accused of hiding lighters in their anus.

“They were told to strip and insert their own fingers in their anus. The officers said they would be beaten up if they refused,” said Gurbachan.

He said four or five officers were involved.

“My client was then forced to do an exercise on an iron bar until his knuckles were injured,” he said, adding that the alleged incident happened at about 7.30pm.

Justice Akhtar said the court took note of the alleged incident.

“Please identify the people involved. I will have a word with them and the accused can take the next step.

“The court takes allegations of abuse seriously. The prosecution must assist,” he said
