IPOH: The wife of detained Sungai Siput MP Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj has appealed to the police to let family members visit those held under the Emergency Ordinance.

R. Mohana Rani said the families had yet to be permitted to visit the six PSM activists since they were detained on July 2.
“We are entering the third week of their detention. The immediate family members have yet to be given access to visit them,” she said at the PSM office in Jelapang near here yesterday.

“We are worried and concerned about their health,” she added.

The six were detained for their alleged involvement in foreign-aided and subversive activities against the nation.

The hearing of a habeas corpus application by the six detainees has been fixed for Aug 5
