PETALING JAYA: Moved by the plight of the tsunami and quake victims in Japan, a group of four 20 year olds embarked on a month-long fundraising campaign this month.

Calling themselves "Y U So Generous", the group aims to raise RM10,000 through a variety of activities, including a mini carnival, which was held yesterday at the home of one of their members.
Group leader Yasmin Jasmy, 20, said the idea came during a discussion with her friends, Puteri Afzan Johan, 20, Chiq Ruslan, 20, and Serena Roslan, 20.

"We had always wanted to help and do something to help the Japan tsunami and quake victims.

"We believe that this donation, no matter how small, would go a long way in helping them to rebuild their lives.

"We have already raised RM2,000 from families and friends, and we hope to get more through other activities."

The second-year student of Help University said the money collected from the fundraising would be channeled to the Tabung Bencana NSTP-Media Prima.

The carnival is held at No. 22, Jalan 16/6, 46350, Petaling Jaya, from 2pm-7pm.
